If you’re here, you may already be feeling stuck.
Many parents know their child is struggling, but are faced with long waits, unclear responses from school, and repeated requests for “more evidence” before any real support is put in place.
Schools are often stretched, and gathering detailed, professional evidence takes time. Without it, EHCP applications and reviews can stall for months — or even years.
I design my assessments to remove those barriers.
I focus on clearly identifying a child’s needs and explaining them in a way schools and local authorities understand, so progress doesn’t keep getting delayed.
You may have heard these phrases already...
A professional, written report that schools and local authorities are required to consider
Clear, structured evidence that replaces informal and often inaccurate observations within schools
A document written in language schools and Local Authorities understand and value
Independent assessment with a clear timeline, helping decisions and support happen sooner
No waiting lists or repeated referrals, with evidence gathered promptly and professionally
Formal diagnosis can be explored later, once immediate needs are understood and support is in place
Clear insight into how your child learns, without requiring a diagnosis, often waiting years
Guidance that helps you decide whether to pursue further assessment or support
Confidence to advocate for your child's education with clarity and purpose
Each assessment reflects dedicated professional time, including preparation, a home-based assessment, careful analysis, and the writing of an individual, EHCP-aligned report tailored to your child. I write reports to be clear, practical, and ready to use with schools and SENCOs.
A deposit is taken at the time of booking to secure your appointment and the assessment and report-writing time reserved for your child. The remaining balance is due shortly before the report is completed.
I understand that plans can change. Where possible, appointments can be rescheduled with notice, and deposits can be transferred to a new date to offer families flexibility and peace of mind.
The report can be shared with:
Your child’s school or SENCO
Professionals and tutors supporting your child
EHCP requests or reviews
It provides structured evidence and practical recommendations to support conversations about adjustments and next steps. Once your report is delivered, an original copy will be securely stored for up to a year in compliance with GDPR, in case of follow up questions or loss.
Not at all. There are no pass or fail outcomes. The assessment is child-centred and strengths-based, designed to help your child feel comfortable and supported in a familiar environment. Due to the inherent rigour in assessment, some children can find it tough and may not complete each task in full, choosing instead to disengage, this is entirely fine and in fact part of the process in identifying barriers to learning. The goal here is to identify learning difficulties and potential solutions to work around them, producing a report that can then be used to support your child throughout their education.
That’s okay! When you fill out the Book Assessment form, you can share your concerns and any suspected difficulties for your child. Simply choose the assessment you feel fits your needs, and I will review it beforehand to ensure it is suitable and will provide the right outcomes.
As brief overview of the above table there are three assessment levels, which differ based on the amount of evidence and detail required:
Focussed Assessment – targeted, quick insights for specific concerns
Full Assessment – more detailed evaluation and practical strategies
Comprehensive Pre-EHCP Evidence – in-depth assessment providing extensive evidence to support EHCP requests
Each level of assessment has a specific detailed suite of tasks/tests to complete, however the report is somewhat flexible and can be partially adapted to suit your child’s individual needs.
This assessment complements school-based and NHS routes rather than replacing them. It helps clarify concerns, guide support strategies, and strengthen the evidence you already have.
For many families pursuing an EHCP, school and NHS processes can involve long waiting times—sometimes years—and high thresholds for support. Independent assessment evidence can show that a child’s needs are ongoing and go beyond what schools can reasonably provide, helping secure clearer, earlier decisions while waiting for diagnostic assessments, which will provide additional evidence but may still leave discussions about specific support ongoing.
A clear understanding of your child’s learning needs
You’ll see exactly how your child learns, where they thrive, and where targeted support can make the biggest difference—information that can be hard to get quickly from schools or NHS services.
Practical strategies you can use immediately
Actionable advice for home and school ensures that support starts right away, rather than waiting months or years for formal assessments or interventions.
Professional evidence to support appropriate provision
Your report provides independent, structured evidence that schools and Local Authorities recognise, helping to strengthen EHCP requests or adjustments and bridging gaps where school-based assessments may be limited.
Confidence in advocating for your child
With clear, professional insight in hand, you can approach schools, SENCOs, and other professionals with authority and clarity, avoiding frustration and ensuring your child gets the support they need while waiting for longer-term routes.
No — this assessment is not a medical diagnosis. Instead, it provides a clear picture of how your child learns, processes information, and where support may be helpful. Many families use the report to inform or support medical or clinical pathways if they choose to explore them. Local Authority and School must consider evidence from private assessment and most encourage independent assessment on the basis that it provides clear, independent insight into a child’s needs, helping SENCOs justify support, make informed decisions, and demonstrate when needs go beyond what schools can provide alone.
I conduct home-based assessments across Kent and Southeast England. Travel is included in the cost, so there are no extra fuel or travel charges.
Occasionally, traffic in the South-East may cause minor delays — if this happens, I will contact you by phone. With your agreement, we can continue the assessment slightly behind schedule.
In the unlikely event that an assessment needs to be cancelled due to adverse weather, breakdown, or other unforeseen issues, I will rearrange it at your convenience for the earliest possible time.
